Holiday Gift Guide

The holidays are just around the corner! This year I’m sharing gift ideas from six small businesses I know you’re going to love. Each one is female-owned, many of them run entirely by one person, which has such a special place in my heart. You might have already seen me share some of their work on Instagram — I’m a huge fan of each and have their designs all around my house. I’ve also had the honor of partnering with some of these incredible companies, but this post is not sponsored and all opinions are my own. From home goods to handbags to jewelry and more, there’s no reason not to shop small this holiday season.

ABBY ALLEY

Abby launched her company Abby Alley in 2018 after traveling to Tanzania to teach. Her designs are made by artisans in the Horn of Africa using locally and ethically sourced materials, including the leather for her handbags. No animals are harmed for fashion as they only use byproduct from the meat industry, an integral part of the local economy. This is the softest bag I’ve ever owned and it would make such a special gift for a loved one!

COLORBLOKC

Jess Macy is the Kansas City based artist behind colorbloKC. Her work is inspired by nature, landscapes, cosmic elements, human connection, her cats, and much more, and they feature a consistent color palette with a vintage feel. Jess creates her artwork digitally and prints on 100% recycled cardstock with a beautiful natural speckle. I have a bunch of colorbloKC prints around my house and love how personal of a gift they are to give.

DREAMER & CO

Jessica and Baylee co-founded Dreamer & Co in 2018 after working for the same non-profit. Their jewelry is handcrafted by an incredibly talented group of women in the Horn of Africa. Every bead is made by hand-rolling paper and you can see how beautifully intricate they are up close. I love giving their bracelets as holiday presents and how cute are their new Christmas ornaments?

IVY MANE

Rachel started Ivy Mane in 2020 as a creative outlet, but it quickly became much more. Based in New Jersey, her work is handmade with concrete and inspired by nature, natural forms, and landscapes. Rachel also has a line called the Zero Waste Project where she uses repurposed concrete to create beautiful, one of a kind designs. My Ivy Mane pots are hands down my favorite, not only because they provide the perfect home for my plants, but they’re a work of art, themselves. If you have a houseplant mom in your life, this would be the perfect gift!

MORTAR AND STONE

Erin Pattullo is the ceramic artist behind Mortar and Stone, based in Aurora, CO. Erin is driven by the importance of good design, which is reflected in her beautiful ceramic work. Each piece is one of a kind, ranging from mugs to vases to bowls and more. I love my little bud vases and think they’d make such a special holiday gift. Don’t hesitate too long, Erin’s designs sell out FAST!

REBOURNE

Erin formed ReBourné in 2016 after experiencing a devastating burn accident. Spending more time at home in New York due to her injuries, Erin found creative outlets through painting, writing music, and making candles. From there she expanded into lotions and soaps, each with a fragrance that was inspired by a feeling or emotion. Her company name is an homage to her grandmother and her mission is to help any person in the need of a mental transformation, whether it be from an accident or a bad day at work. I have the tranquil candle and it smells so unbelievably good, I think anyone would love it as a holiday gift!

Hope this helps with your holiday shopping!
